Build Help/Ready:
What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.
Gaming at 1440p/144hz. Other than that just normal usage, movies etc hence the IPS screen.
Playing games like CSGO, Overwatch, Tomb Raider, GTA V, Shadow of Mordor, Witcher 3. Also sometimes I like to play MMORPGs where a better CPU could be useful, like World of Warcraft, FF14 and BDO.
If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings)
Looking for 1440p/90-144 fps games very high/ultra settings since I have the monitor and GPU for it.
What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?
I have the money to do the upgrade I propose but on the fence about whether it's worth it or not right now.
In what country are you purchasing your parts?
Finland, not planning on ordering from other countries.

I know I can run most new games at 90+ FPS almost maxed with my rig. Currently thinking of getting 8gb more RAM for the extra performance, but I'd have to spend 65€ on similarly fast DDR3 ram. Other option is going for Mobo+CPU+DDR4 upgrade since it's on sale in a Finnish store right now.
The thought of spending 65€ on DDR3 is kind of absurd considering it's not money well spent if I intend to upgrade CPU+Mobo+RAM in a year or two.
The MSI Z270 GAMING M5 + Intel 7700K BOX + 16GB Fury 2666MHz bundle is going for 619€. Individually these parts in Finland would cost 733€ at cheapest.
Options that I have are:
- Buy the bundle and be good with the Mobo+RAM+CPU for the next 4-5 years. - 619€
- Get 8GB more DDR3 RAM right now and upgrade Mobo+RAM+CPU in a year or maximum two years. - 65€
- Don't get anything right now and upgrade Mobo+RAM+CPU in a year or maximum two years. The problem with this is that I am consistently running out of memory when I play PUBG and have Chrome open at the same time (Yes, I know PUBG still has memory leaks) and I end up using the slower Pagefile on SSD. Also I experience some texture loading issues in PUBG and similarly texture bad pop-in in Rise of the Tomb Raider benchmark (3rd part), although not sure if it's CPU issue or RAM shortage.
It's 619€ now for i7 Kaby Lake or 650€-750€ in a year for i5 Cannonlake (estimate including the possible 65€ DDR3 for current system). I rarely see bundles this good in Finland to be honest.
I'd like to be able to watch Twitch stream on a 2nd 1080p monitor while I game, but it's not possible with 8 Gb RAM (and maybe even tough with current i5 CPU???). I get pretty random FPS drops with current CPU (and RAM), aka not perfectly happy with minimum frame rates in some games.
I'm just really not sure whether the upgrade is worth it right now value-wise. If I already had 16 Gb DDR3 then I would definitely not upgrade now. Just not too keen on throwing any money at DDR3, but 16 Gb of RAM would be nice for multitasking (gaming while stream open on 2nd screen, would current CPU limit this even with 16 Gb RAM?).
Current i5-3570k CPU is OC'd to 4.2 GHz, can't go higher cuz of temps.
Also not sure about Noctua NH-D15 for new CPU, maybe I could go for cheaper cooler to go with 7700k for a mild OC, suggestions?
I'm the kind of guy that would like to make-do with a CPU for 4-5 years at least since it's a rare upgrade for me, so that's why I kind of like the idea of having an i7 and Hyper-Threading, but not sure if it's total overkill in that case compared to waiting and getting an i5 Cannonlake next year.
You guys have the power to tip me over, ask for more info and please any suggestions/tips are good! :)
