1070 Overheat Crash x( pc building site custom pc builder

Hi guys, my pc just crashed and i had to remove my GPU, i touched it and it was very hot, I never had this issue before, i dont know why it happened, i was gaming but nothing out of the ordinary. I tried running the PC again with the card installed but nothing, i will let it cool for a while and try again tomorrow. Why do you think this happened? I have the latest 384.76 nvdia driver but not the EVGA presicion software or anything like that . i pray to the gods that the card isnt dead or something :S. Id appreciate your help
