advice on the build pc building site custom pc builder

Build Help/Ready:

Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do) yes

What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.

Family computer, windows with 4 users logged in under their accounts. Lots of tabs stay open in chrome. Netflix etc.

File server, backups from laptops etc.

Programming experiments, open source, coursera etc. Virtual machines for experiments with linux.

Occasional games (Oblivion, Doom 2016)

If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings)

1920x1080. Anything playable, I am ok with tuning down quality a little.

Videocards' prices are crazy so I am planning on upgrading video in a year or so.

Seriously considering going with onboard video till Thanksgiving/Christmas sales.

What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?

$2000-ish. The less the better

In what country are you purchasing your parts?

Post a draft of your potential build here (specific parts please). Consider formatting your parts list. Don't ask to be spoonfed a build (read the rules!).

I'll have to buy external dvd reader if I go with this case.

Provide any additional details you wish below.

Not going to overclock. PC is on 24x7.

I am trying to build a quiet PC. The case is quiet and overall great as I've read but it is a little bit on the bigger side. I'd love something smaller, no glass, room for 3-4 HDDs, couple of SSDs, quiet, with decent airflow.
