[Build help] looking for advice pc building site custom pc builder

Hello guys! It's been awhile since I've looked into upgrading my of so I just had a few questions.

  1. I just recently purchased an XFX R9 290x 8gb graphics card to upgrade from my crossfired 6950s. I only paid $200 for the card. Do y'all think that was a good purchase? I like games such as rust, beamNG Drive, and a few other survival games. I also want to get into playing a few games that I have yet to play such as The Witcher, SkyRim, and a few other games of that caliber.

  2. I want to add some ram to my system as I only have 2 4gb sticks right now. I was wondering if I could purchase just 1 extra 8gb stick? My CPU Cooler blocks one of my ram slots from being used so that's why I would like to be able to just purchase 1 extra stick.

  3. Would y'all suggest any other upgrades? I have my CPU overclocked to 4ghz and I think 4 cores is enough to handle modern games for now. I still run windows 7 so I'd like to buy a larger ssd and use that for music editing programs and use my 64gb ssd as my operating system drive. The 1tb drive still has plenty of space on it. If y'all know of any good deals on SSDs right now please post them. I do plan on doing a full wipe of everything once I get a larger ssd so I could start completely fresh.
