[Build Help] Node 2 mITX w/ i7 7700 and GTX 1070 mini - Only thing left is cooling! pc building site custom pc builder

Hi all,

Would love some help pushing my build through the finish line.

I've got everything picked out, but I have almost 0 clue on what to do about cooling solutions.

My goal is for this PC to be well cooled, and just as important, be as quiet as possible.

I've seen some amazing watercooled builds but unsure if it would be necessary, or even possible considering the video card that I'm using (Zotac GTX 1070 Mini, which is slightly larger than the Gigabyte 1070 mini that I've seen people water cool the CPU with in the past).

Anyone have any experience with these tight cooling constraints / solutions?

Would love some input on which fans / watercooling to buy to meet my requirements, or what arrangements to put them in!

Build Help/Ready:

Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do)

What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.

Oculus went on sale -- the price of the all-in PC build + VR (vive or oculus) had me on the wall. Then Oculus went on sale, and I just went for it!

Primary use is VR gaming. Will probably also use this as a HTPC and remote PC as I travel a lot, and it would be nice to have some power to accomplish some tasks from a remote computer.

If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings)

Not the most detailed answer, but I want to be able to play most things at nearly the highest reasonable settings, and not have to worry about it for a while!

What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?

~$1200-1300, though I would be willing to go a bit over if it helps me have exactly what I need!

In what country are you purchasing your parts?

Post a draft of your potential build here (specific parts please). Consider formatting your parts list. Don't ask to be spoonfed a build (read the rules!).

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

So I've already purchased most parts -- my Oculus shipped almost a week earlier than I expected it to, so I went ahead and purchased a bunch of parts, trying to find deals where I could. Prices here reflect Price + Shipping - Discounts. I did not include tax, so other people could use this as a reference (which is ~$75 as of this posting).

Provide any additional details you wish below.

Would love to know if there's anything in the above that I should return and swap out.

However, my primary concerns for this build are the following:

1) Able to do VR, and able to do it very well.

2) Small. I move around a LOT, so I would like to be able to take this with me easily. I've moved around with a full tower before and it is not fun.

3) Quiet. I'd be willing to spend some extra to get this whisper silent, though I am aware of the limitations of the mITX build and its airflow restrictions

4) Not planning on overclocking for the time being. I kind of just want to build this and be done. Maybe in the future, at which point I would have to upgrade my MB, but hopefully that would be at least 2 years away.
