What is the intended use?

  • Intended use is to game with some all round capabilities, he does alot of variable IT work ranging from rendering to simple coding. However this is predominantly a gaming rig that ticks those other boxes

If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for?

The intended gaming is from diablo II to Player unknown etc etc, basically his gaming library varies greatly, however he would like this to be on the high end and long tasting scale of things. Ive nudged him to high hertz giving his location atm, ultrawide has been considered however 4k would only be used when plugged into his tv. For the moment the exact choice is up for discussion

What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?

-$2500, give or take. Mostly give in my head haha

In what country are you purchasing your parts?

Provide any additional details you wish below.

Basically what I've put into the parts list is what I image would be a sturdy rig, I have a high end gaming rig however I did it nearly 2 years ago.

I wish we could get him a 1080ti for that budget however prices in Australia are just shocking. Personally leaning towards the 7700k, not overly keen on AMD, however as its not my rig not overly fussed. However my research on them is 0. The ASUS motherboard was chosen out of reviews and just general consistency of the product. The evga 1080 hybrid is on sale, also a big fan of hybrid cards, however open to opinion. Ram was just generic, 2400 16gb. could go to 3000 to run them cooler, however doubt they will be running much load more then 8gb. PSU, system barely needs any power, unlike mine, so just went with a reasonable evga.

Sorry for the long essay, any quick thoughts would be appreciated.
