GPU/PSU failure after replacing CPU & Motherboard pc building site custom pc builder

After encountering with "Hyper Transport Sync Errors" crashes while trying to start up almost any game, or program (Adobe products mainly), I did a lot of reading and it came to the conclusion that my 8 year old cpu/motherboard was failing. I replaced them, along with my RAM as it was DDR2 and not compatible with the new motherboard.

Now, I no longer get Hyper Transport Error, or any error message at all, just a crash. Various games work better now, namely Minecraft, which seems to be able to run for hours before the crash occurs. With other games, it's usually within 1-5 minutes, the display distorts and green lines, and other display errors appear then the screen goes black, the audio sometimes hangs on the last sound. I believe my GPU has had errors since I got it, but they were relatively minor like tiny grids of colored/flashing dots would randomly appear (not often) on both screens, and it hasn't had any major issues until possibly now.

I've tried running tests through 3Dmark and Heaven Benchmark, but it cannot finish any of the 3Dmark tests, and seems to crash at the exact end of each (transition from rendering demo to results screen). But I was able to get it to complete a Heaven Benchmark on higher settings. It never reached above 84 degrees, and achieved an average FPS of 55.2.

But I have heard that a bad PSU can create similar issues, I only doubt it because my PSU is only around 1-2 years old.

Has anyone encountered anything similar?
