Should I go Ryzen for gaming and college? pc building site custom pc builder

Build Help/Ready:

What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.

Mostly gaming, but as I start to move along in college, I will be doing less gaming and more programming and system administrator types of work (while of course gaming in whatever free time there still is). This computer is, as of now, a machine being built for Destiny 2.

If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings)

Currently have a 1440, 144hz G-Sync monitor that I DO NOT plan on upgrading any time soon. Ultra settings.

What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?

Around $1600-1900 USD

In what country are you purchasing your parts?

Post a draft of your potential build here (specific parts please). Consider formatting your parts list. Don't ask to be spoonfed a build (read the rules!).

Keep in mind here, I already have an SSD with Windows, and I will be transferring the license and SSD to the new system.

Provide any additional details you wish below.

I am very torn between Intel and Ryzen here, and I have made a nearly identical build with a 7700k if I decide to not make the switch. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
