Starting to price building a new business/home PC. First time builder. pc building site custom pc builder

Build Help/Ready:

Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do)

What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.

I work extensively with spreadsheets and databases, and it is not uncommon for me to have 5-6 different spreadsheets running at the same time.

These are big sheets that on my current pc literally take 5-10 minutes each to load at the beginning of the day. I spend most of my time waiting for the "not responding" message to go away.

Because of this I think my biggest requirements are:

  1. large amount of memory,
  2. a video card that can handle at least 2 monitors,
  3. ample storage space.

If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings)

I'm not a huge gamer, but the ability to play the occasional game here or there, would be nice. I don't need to play the latest and greatest on max settings.

What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?

I really wanted to stay under $1000 (monitors not included if necessary)

This is where I've gotten myself in trouble, I thought not needing to play games would help keep my budget in check, but on PC parts picker I'm just way way way too high.

In what country are you purchasing your parts?

Post a draft of your potential build here (specific parts please). Consider formatting your parts list. Don't ask to be spoonfed a build (read the rules!).

I thank you all in advance for any help suggestions you can offer.
